چکیده
Hemorrhagic septicemia is an economically important bacterial disease of cattle and buffaloes [6]. The disease remains a significant obstacle to sustainable livestock production in most parts of tropical Asia and Africa. It is caused by Pasteurella multocida a natural inhabitant of the mucosal surfaces of upper part of the respiratory tract of ruminants, and under predisposing environmental or management conditions which constitute stress for the animals such as transport (shipping fever), marketing, change of feed, climate or ventilation [1]. The disease is per acute, having a short clinical course, involving severe depression, pyrexia, submandibular edema, and dyspnea, followed by recumbency and responsible for 70% above bovine mortality [2].

Genotyping of Pasteurella multocida ovine and bovine isolates from Iran based on PCR-RFLP of ompH gene
Pasteurella multocida (P. multocida), A Gram-negative facultative anaerobic bacterium, is a causative animal pathogen in porcine atrophic rhinitis and avian fowl cholera. The outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria contains of many different protein in very high copy numbers. One of the major outer membrane, the H proteins have functional as high immunogenicity and antigenicity. In this study ...

Pasteurella multocida is known as an important heterogenic bacterial agent causes some severe diseases such as fowl cholera in poultry and haemorrhagic septicaemia in cattle and buffalo. A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay was developed using primers derived from conserved part of 16S-23S rRNA gene. The PCR amplified a fragment size of 0.7 kb using DNA from nine avian P. multocida isolates...
متن کاملStudy on Immunity of an Experimental Oil Adjuvant Haemorrhagic Septicaemia Vaccine in Cattle.
An oil adjuvant vaccine (OAV) was prepared from a local strain of Pasteurella multocida. Strain 6:B was cultured and inactivated by formalin. Bacterial pellet was prepared by centrifugation and subsequently adjuvanted by Montannide oil ISA-70. A dose of prepared vaccine containing 3ml (2mg dry weight/ml) was injected into five calves by IM route. Animals were bled before and at 24, 90, 150, and...
متن کاملLPS-PCR typing of ovine Pasteurella multocida isolates from Iran based on (L1 to L8) outer core biosynthesis loci
Pasteurella multocida isa gram-negative bacterial pathogen that is causative agent of a wide range of diseases in many animal species and humans. Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are an important virulence factor, minor changes to structure of which can exert dramatic effects on pathogenicity of P. multocida in its host. LPS can be used for the identification and classification of strains with somatic...
متن کاملPathogenicity and immunogenicity of native and mutant strains of Pasteurella multocida, the causative agents of haemorrhagic septicaemia
Haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) is a fatal systemic disease of cattle and buffaloes. Some control isachieved with administration of alum-precipitated or oil-adjuvanted killed whole-cell vaccines injectedsubcutaneously. These vaccines, however, provide only short-term immunity and for effective use, theyshould be administered annually. We constructed an aroA attenuated derivative of a Pasteurella ...
